A mixer-amp combines a small mixer and a power amplifier in one box. You plug in mics and music, set levels, and connect 100V or low-impedance speakers directly. It is the usual heart of a café, shop, office, school, gym or small hall PA for background music & paging.
Use a mixer-amp when one zone (or a simple two-zone job) needs BGM plus paging and you want one rack unit. Use a separate pre-amp mixer and power amp when you need more zones, more power, or a matrix DSP. One box is simpler; two boxes scale further.
Choose 100V line for many ceiling or cabinet speakers and long cable runs. Choose low-Z (4–8 ohm) for a few higher-quality speakers in one room. Many commercial mixer-amps offer both — never load 100V and low-Z speakers on the same output at once.
