JBL CBT 100LA-1-WH
The JBL CBT 100LA-1-WH line array column speaker with Constant Beamwidth Technology™ is fitted with 16 x 2” full range drivers and is designed for use on 70V / 100V line loudspeaker circuits via its multi-tap transformer with an 8 Ohm bypass for low impedance circuits. Rated at 120W at 70/100V or 200W at 5 Ohms.
This slim column speaker (100 cm [39.4 in] tall by 10 cm [3.9 in] wide) is finished in white (CBT 100LA-1-WH). Also available in black (CBT 100LA-1).
The design represents a breakthrough in pattern control, utilizing analogue delay beam forming and amplitude tapering to accomplish consistent vertical coverage without the narrow vertical beaming and out-of-coverage lobing that are typical of straight form-factor passive column speakers.
The combination of superb sound quality, excellent pattern control, and compact design makes CBT 100LA-1-WH ideal for a wide variety of applications, such as lecture halls, transit hubs, conference rooms, cathedrals, multipurpose spaces, architectural spaces, in-wall recessed locations and more.
The adjustable coverage feature allows switching between broad and narrow vertical coverage settings to match the coverage and throw requirements of the application. Coverage adjustment can be easily switched in-venue with the speaker already installed. This innovation allows a single loudspeaker model to excel in an extremely wide variety of project types.
The voicing can be set to match the application through the Music/Speech switch, conveniently located on the side of the cabinet. The Music setting provides flat frequency response, while the Speech setting produces a mid-range presence boost to provide clear, intelligible speech even at the longest throw distances.
The drivers feature dual neodymium magnets for light weight. Copper-capped pole pieces lower both the driver inductance and the flux modulation. This increases high frequency extension and reduces distortion at high drive levels. Butyl rubber surrounds provide long life even in high humidity environments. The drivers are shielded.
Dynamic SonicGuard™ minimizes distortion at high drive levels by limiting low frequency excursion dynamically. This maximizes clarity at high drive levels while protecting the drivers from damage due to overpowering.
Versatile installation options include the supplied swivel (pan)/tilt wall-mount bracket and eighteen M6 inserts on the back panel enable the use of common third-party mounting brackets, or can be used to suspend the speaker using forged shoulder steel eyebolts.
CBT 100LA-1-WH can be installed either indoors or outdoors. Weather-treated drivers and the fiberglass reinforced ABS cabinet is excellent for outdoor applications. External stainless steel screws and the painted aluminium grille resist rusting in the harshest conditions.
