Audio Technica

Audio Technica is a Japanese manufacturer of microphones, headphones and phonographic cartridges.

 

Audio Technica was established in Japan in 1962 and for the first decade or so mainly concentrated on the development of phono cartridges, winning several prestigious awards for its products over the years.

The 1970’s saw the addition of headphones to the range, followed in the 1980’s with installed microphones and wireless microphone systems.

The first Audio Technica studio microphone was launched in 1991 and was named ‘best microphone of 1991 at the Audio Engineering Society convention.

Since then more microphones have been developed and many have been used at high profile sports broadcasts over the years.

Winner of numerous industry awards, Audio-Technica manufactures products that set quality, durability and price/performance standards for live sound tours, broadcast and recording studios, corporate and government facilities, house-of-worship venues, and more.
