Pendant (suspended) loudspeakers hang from the structure on a cable so the driver faces downwards towards the listening level. Use them in high-ceilings or large volume spaces — retail, restaurants, shopping centres, bars, atriums, leisure centres and offices — where a flush ceiling speaker would be too high to cover the floor evenly.
A ceiling speaker in a 6–8 m atrium fires from the deck, so the level drops and echoes build before the sound reaches people. A pendant is dropped to a sensible height, fires downward, and needs less volume for the same clarity. If you have a standard 2.7 m tiled ceiling, a flush ceiling speaker is usually simpler and cheaper.
Hang so the speaker is above head height and walkways but close enough to the listening plane for even coverage — typically a few metres above the floor in a tall volume, not hard against the roof. Keep suspension clear of lights, fans and sprinklers, and use the manufacturer’s hanging kit and strain relief. The Commercial Audio sales team can help set spacing for a given room height.
Yes. Most models in this range are 100V line, which suits long cable runs and multi-speaker zones. Several are dual-impedance (Cloud CVS-P42T / P62T, Soundtube RS400i, JBL Control 65P/T) so they can also sit on a low-Z amplifier. Add up the selected taps and leave amplifier headroom as you would with any distributed system.

Ball or sphere models (Proel CSB10, DAP SS-105, CES SPS-5121, RCF BS8, Bosch LBC3095/15) are compact 100V projectors, often used for paging and even BGM. Two-way pendants (Cloud CVS-P42T / P62T, JBL Control 65P/T) add a separate tweeter for clearer music. Choose the ball for discreet coverage and cost; choose two-way where music quality matters more.
White is the default for most interiors but there are some black versions such as the Cloud CVS-P42TB / P62TB and Soundtube RS400i-BK. Match the pendant and cable to the ceiling so the hang disappears; a white sphere on a black industrial deck will always read as a light fitting.
Plan coverage from hanging height, dispersion and power tap — not from ceiling-tile centres. Wider-dispersion models cover more floor per point; higher rooms still need a tighter grid if you drop the speakers only part-way. A café mezzanine and a full-height atrium will not use the same spacing.
As with many clearance products, pendant speakers are reduced for several different reasons. They may be excess stock from a large retail roll-out, an ex-demo product or just simply remaining stock when a model has been updated. Please confirm / reserve the required quantity before you design a hanging plan around a ‘last-few’ product.
