The functionality of the DCN multimedia devices and DICENTIS wireless devices can be extended by the use of optional licenses. The Identification at Seat license enables participant identification in a DCN multimedia device or a DICENTIS Wireless Device Extended. The number of licenses has to correspond with the number of devices that require identification. The license is supplied as an activation code and is enabled in the same way as the other activation codes in the DICENTIS and DCN multimedia systems.

DICENTIS wireless

When the DICENTIS Wireless Device Extended has the Identification at Seat license:

• User access restrictions are enabled; participants can use their NFC tag to identify themselves and participate in a meeting.
• Free or fixed seating is supported and can be configured by using the web interface of the DICENTIS Wireless Access Point.
• The names of participants can be displayed at different locations, such as on the Wireless Device Extended, the web interface and hall displays (with camera control).
• The participant‘s names is correctly displayed in the speaker list, even when speaking from a central location, e.g. a rostrum.
• Other participants immediately know who is speaking.

The DICENTIS Wireless Device Extended can be configured as an NFC-reader. This allows NFC tags to be linked to participants, enabling participant information to be quickly and easily entered into the system.confirm their presence during a voting round. 

DCN multimedia

When the DCN multimedia devices have the Identification at Seat license:

• User access restrictions are enabled; participants can use their own defined username and/or password to log in to the system and participate in the meeting.
• The welcome screen on the DCN multimedia devices can display personal participant credentials.
• The login screen can be used to welcome participants to a meeting and help them find their designated seat.
• Free or fixed seating is supported and can be configured in the Meeting Application.
• Identification via a ‘select from list’ function is available.
• The names of participants can be displayed at different locations, such as on the DCN multimedia devices, hall displays (i.e. with camera control) and in the DCN multimedia webcast application.
• The participant‘s names is correctly displayed in the speaker list and on the camera image, even when speaking from a central location, e.g. a rostrum. The ‘select from list’ function is implemented for this.
• Other participants immediately know who is speaking.
• A DCN multimedia device can be disabled if it is not being used during a meeting.

The DCN multimedia system also requires the Meeting Preparation & Management (DCNM‑LMPM) and Participant Database (DCNM‑LPD) licenses, because identification requires participants.
